On a tram the recording system covers both the passenger compartment and the door areas. Door opening events are marked as incidents, so an investigation can go straight to the relevant footage.
The link between the on-board recorder and the control centre can drop along the route, so footage is always retained on the vehicle and transferred when the connection returns.
